Overall, we had a great week exploring circles!
This past week, we've been exploring circles. We learned how to find the centre of a circle and how to measure the radius and diameter. Then we practiced finding these measurements when given the other. We have to use the formula r = d/2 or d = r x 2. One day we even worked in table groups to find the centre point of our table and calculate its radius and diameter. All groups had similar answers but not exactly the same! Next, we worked in groups to figure out how to measure the distance around a circular object using string. We learned that this distance is called circumference. Many of us noticed that the diameter multiplied by approximately 3 gave us the circumference... which leads to pi! We watched a short video about pi which you can see below. Overall, we had a great week exploring circles!
